Sorry For Party Rocking cover art.

LMFAO are back and we have done a track by track review of their latest album ‘Sorry For Party Rocking’ which includes singles ‘Party Rock Anthem’ & Champagne Showers’. A very mixed album, some great tunes yet some great let-downs. 5/10.

     1. Rock The Beat II

An explosive intro with the duo introducing themselves and the album which then ends in a surprising dubstep twist.

     2. Sorry For Party Rocking

The ‘Sorry For Party Rocking’ vocal motif is introduced on top of what sounds like auto-tuned groaning. Not an impressive start.

     3. Party Rock Anthem

Filled with hi-synths and catchy melodies in the chorus, this lead single shows a more pop edge to LMFAO’s usual electro-rap style.

     4. Sexy And I Know It

The song starts off with a long build up of cutting synth sounds which leads to a disappointing drop however the beat builds again which this time leads to a more head-bopping drop.

     5. Champagne Showers

An extremely catchy dance groove with a feature from fellow record label mate Natalia Kills. One for the dance floor; guaranteed!

     6. One Day

More emotional lyrics from LMFAO compared to their usual talking points of champagne, parties and polka-dot bikinis. There are some poor harmonies, however with a fast-paced, fist-pumping chorus, this is a definite club banger.

     7. Put That A$$ To Work

The only rock element in this album is the quick bass riff that keeps this track moving during the verse. Apart from the minimal ‘rocking’ this track is quite mediocre.

     8. Take It To The Hole

An unexpected feature from Busta Rhymes that surprisingly works. With a repetitive synth riff over a dark bass line, LMFAO’s electro-rap style definitely shines through on this track.

     9. We Came Here To Party

This song has a summery feel but there is no uplifting point within the track which is a bit of shame and the change of sounds towards the end of the song was a bit unnecessary.

     10. Reminds Me Of You

Features Calvin Harris and he makes his presence quite clear with his keyboard led melodies and vocals from the Party Rocking duo.

     11. Best Night

Featuring will.i.am, this track blends into the background in the sense that it really isn’t anything special nor does it stand out on the album.

     12. All Night Long

Auto-tuned vocals describe some obvious sexual innuendos such as “we can ride away…all night long”. This track is definitely a major step-up from the previous let down.

     13. With You

Another summer time tune but a much better attempt this time. A very prominent slap bass line definitely keeps the summery element intact in this song.

     14. Hot Dog

This upbeat tune presents choppy synth sounds on top of bouncy yet rhythmic percussion. Definitely a banger, however it is an odd way to end an album.
