Earthquake album artTimothy McKenzie better known as Labrinth has released the second single off his debut album, ‘Furtherworks’. The London based producer first stepped onto the scene in 2008 having helped produce Master Shortie’s debut album ‘A.D.H.D.’ Although the album failed to chart, it bought Labrinth some well deserved recognition. Since then he has been signed to Simon Cowell’s label SyCo, had a number 1 hit alongside Tinie Tempah with the track ‘Pass Out’ and released his first single entitled ‘Let The Sunshine’ which peaked at number 3 on the UK singles charts. Labrinth now presents his bass pumping track, ‘Earthquake’ featuring Tinie Tempah. A surging synth bass line is quickly introduced and the first words uttered by the 22 year old are “Ladies and gentlement this is what they call a ground-breaker” and so far we cannot argue with him. Percussion soon follows which subsequently drops the beat into a thundering chorus. An almost empty bridge section preceeds Tinie Tempah’s verse in which he describes the song as a “straight 10 on the Richter scale” and by now there is no doubting that he is right. If this is what’s in store for the album we can safely say that Labrinth has further success in his path.
