Patrick Chukwuemeka Okogwu a.k.a Tinie Tempah has gone from growing up in an estate in south-east London to headlining arena tours. Tinie was born in 1988 and began his journey in 2006 when his track ‘Tears’ received major airplay on Channel AKA. Soon after, Tinie released his first mixtape entitled ‘Hood Economics Room 147’ which featured many other urban artists such as Mz Bratt, Chipmunk and Bashy. Oddly, Tinie’s big break came when Sony used his track ‘Listen To This Vibe’ for a new game they were launching for the Playstation Portable. For the promotion of the game, Tinie went on tour with Dizzee Rascal and Sway.

In 2009, Tinie was performing at the Wireless festival in London and was lucky enough to be spotted by music consultant, Jade Richardson who was completely amazed by him. She immediately rang Parlophone Records to tell them about him. Later on that year Tinie Tempah was signed and began work on his debut album ‘Disc-Overy’ which was eventually released in October 2010. The long awaited album featured his top 5 hits ‘Pass Out’, ‘Frisky’, ‘Written In The Stars’ & ‘Miami 2 Ibiza’ with Swedish House Mafia.

As well as the success of his debut album, Tinie has also been dominating the live shows and award ceremonies. The 23 year old performed his hit ‘Pass Out’ on the Pyramid stage at Glastonbury with hip-hop legend Snoop Dogg, supported Rihanna on her UK tour and has had his own arena tour. In the short space of two years and only one album, Tinie has already got 3 MOBO awards, 2 Brit Awards, an Ivor Novella award and many more.

Tinie Tempah is currently working on his second album and has recently released a mixtape called ‘Happy Birthday’.
