American comedy trio consisting of Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccone collectively known as The Lonely Island are responsible for the hilarious Saturday Night Live digital shorts such as ‘Natalie’s Rap’, ‘Dick In A Box’, ‘Jizz In My Pants’ and ‘I’m On A Boat’ which was nomintaed for Grammy. As well as working with Staurday Night Live, the trio are a bona-fide comedy group having released two album enititled, ‘Incredibad’ and ‘Turtleneck and Chain’.

Their first album ‘Incredibad’ was released on February 10th 2009 falling into the genre of rap and comedy and collaborating with aritsts such as T-Pain, Julian Casablancas, Natalie Portman & many more. The album went straight to number 13 on the US Billboard 200 and was the 8th best selling rap album of 2009, selling over 240,000 copies. The trio’s second album ‘Turtleneck and Chain’ was released on May 10th 2011. The album was nominated for a Grammy for Best Comedy Album and peaked at number 3 on the US Billboard charts. Having released 7 singles from the album most of which debuted on Saturday Night Live.

The Lonely Island have worked with many people during Saturday Night Live and on their albums but nobody would think that they would have collaborated with the likes of Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake, Snoop Dogg, Nicki Minaj, Akon and many more notable artists.  As well as working together, the Lonely Island also work on solo projects, Samberg appeared in 2009 film ‘I Love You, Man’ & ‘Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs’. Schaffer has directed four music videos for We Are The Scientist and Taccone appeared in the film ‘Role Models’ and feature film ‘Land Of The Lost’.
